Day four – Belarus

Today we were up at 5.45am for our 8am game and knew that a win against Belarus was essential to keep us in the competition. We were all pretty exhausted after three tough ten end games and so were keen to get our super-sub Sarah and her fresh arms onto the ice. This was Sarah’s first ever international game!

Having got ourselves into trouble previously by being a little too aggressive, we started by throwing a stone into the house. The end was on for a blank but the Belarusian skip made a mistake by hitting ours on the nose and taking a one. In the second end we really piled on the pressure and took a three with hammer. At the half time break the score was 6-2 and ours for the taking.

Belarus took a one in the sixth end, but we hit back with a two and a steal of one to win the game 9-3. A great performance from all and some high stats to prove it:

Anna 86% | Angharad 81% | Naomi 70% | Sarah 70%

We’re looking forward to our game this afternoon against the Netherlands at 4pm and need to keep on winning to stay in with a chance of making the playoffs. Naomi will be resting for this game and Lauren will come back in at second. We’re hoping to keep Sarah’s 100% international win record in tact!

Wish us luck 🙂

Anna, Angharad, Lauren, Naomi and Sarah
